Chemical Composition (%)
Heat Treatment of Steel 1.3343
Annealing: 780 to 820℃, slow cooling in furnace (10-20℃/hr), down to approx. 600℃, cooling in air. Hardness after annealing: max. 260HB.
Stress relieving: approx. 650℃, holding time:1 to 2hours.slow cooling in furnace.
Hardening: 1180 to 1230℃, oil. Quenching: oil, air or hot bath at approx. 550℃. Hardness obtainable, 62 to 65 HRC.
Tempering: Slowly heating to tempering temperature right after hardening. Recommended to temper 2 or 3 times.
* Hardening temperature: 1200℃, specimen size: dia20mm
Properties of 1.3343 Steel
High strength at elevated temperature, good toughness, good compressive strength, good wear resistance.
Applications of 1.3343 Steel
Standard material for machining tools, e.g. drill bits, milling cutters, screw dies, broaches, inserts for circular saw blades, slotting tools and wood working tools. In addition, cold forming tools e.g. cutting and blanking tools, cold extrusion punches and dies. Excellent material for PVD/CVD coating.
