Hot Forming
Forging: 1050 to 850℃, slowing cooling in furnace.
Heat Treatment
Annealing: 800 to 850℃, slow cooling in furnace (10-20℃/hr), down to approx. 600℃, cooling in air. Hardness after annealing: max. 250HB.
Stress relieving: approx. 650℃, slow cooling in furnace. Hold in neutral atmosphere for 1 to 2hours.
Hardening: 1010 to 1050℃, oil, air or hot bath at approx. 350℃ to 450℃. Hold 15 to 30 minutes. Hardness obtainable, 63 to 65 HRC.
Tempering: 520 to 570℃. Slowly heating to tempering temperature right after hardening. Recommended to temper 2 or 3 times to increase toughness.
